A real invoice

A verified business issues an invoice for services it provides. The goal is that invoice, and collection stops when it is covered.

Every contribution is processed into the business's own payment account. VeriGiving never holds a dollar.

Contributors are notified when the bill is settled. Families are protected from fake fundraising pages.

How money moves

VeriGiving is software. It is not in the flow of funds at any point.

  1. 1A verified Canadian business issues an invoice for services it provides to a client.
  2. 2Contributors pay by card. Payments are handled by a third party payment processor that is itself registered with FINTRAC as a money services business.
  3. 3Funds settle directly into the business's own account with that processor. VeriGiving never receives, holds, pools, or transmits contributor funds, and cannot direct them elsewhere.
  4. 4Collection stops at one hundred percent of the invoice, so no surplus is ever collected.

Payments can only ever reach the verified business named on the page. No individual can be a recipient. Contribution pages are anchored to an invoice confirmed by the business before any payment is accepted.

VeriGiving is paid a platform fee by the business. Contributors are never charged a fee and are never asked for a tip.
