Honest pricing

You will do this math yourself, so here it is done for you. All amounts in Canadian dollars.

Contributors and families pay nothing.

There is no tip prompt anywhere on VeriGiving, no fee added at checkout, and no percentage quietly pre selected on a contributor's behalf. A contributor who gives $100 sends $100 toward the invoice. Starting a page, splitting a bill, and exporting a thank you list are free for the family. The only fee on this platform is the 1.5 percent the business pays, and it is printed below.

Card processing is the standard rate for Canadian cards (2.9% + $0.30 per payment; international cards cost a little more) and is the same fee you already pay when a family pays you by card today. VeriGiving adds nothing on top of it and never touches the payment itself. The number of contributors assumes $75 each, in line with the average donation GoFundMe reported for 2024 ($77 USD).

The fine print, in plain language

  • If you are contributing: every dollar you give goes to the bill. Give $100 and $100 is counted toward the invoice. There is no fee added at checkout, no tip prompt, and nothing pre selected for you. The business pays for the platform, not you.
  • If you are the business: the fee comes from your side. 1.5 percent of each contribution is deducted from what settles into your payment account, exactly like card processing fees already are. That is why the page can truthfully tell contributors that 100 percent goes toward the bill.
  • Taken automatically, never invoiced. The fee is collected with each contribution. No month end bill, no payment method on file, nothing to chase.
  • One flat rate. 1.5 percent on every contribution, whatever the size of the invoice. The business's payment statement shows what was collected next to what was paid.
  • Refunds. Only the business can refund, lower, or cancel an invoice once it has confirmed it. When it does, our fee on the refunded amount goes back to the business. Card processing on that amount does not, the same as any card refund today.
  • No contract, no minimums. A month with no activity costs the business nothing.
